SYSTEM INTEGRATION

We specialize in the System Integration activity. After successfully delivering several integration projects for our clients, we have comprehensive guidelines available for this undertaking. Key documents and processes are:

‘Functional Assessments’ and Impact Analyses. The FA documentation provides the requirements of the business community for changes in the systems. 

‘External Design Documentation’ provides the changes that are requested by the business units/users as reflected in the systems. The requirements are reflected in this document and taken back to the users for their approval before coding impact can be studied. Business community is expected to sign-off on this document. This document is owned by Systems Analysts.

`Internal Design Documentation’ provides the coding manual for the programmers. This document is owned by programmers who would translate the requirements of the EDD into actual changes in the systems.

`Change Control Process’ allows for documenting the change impact of integration and managing it. This also allows for evaluating the processes that are impacted due to system changes/enhancements. Documentation has to be established as part of this process to support implementation and smooth transition to the new systems/features.

`Change Control Process’  is essential to ensuring that any formal or informal request for change to a project underway is properly documented and signed off on by all key stake holders of the project.

Post implementation support as well as training is identified as critical to the success of such integration projects. Whereas high-level guidelines exist for ensuring that these are covered off, the actual documentation and methodology of executing this plan varies from client to client and project to project.
